A backlink audit for better performance in search.
Backlinks affect the authority of your website, but not every link is a benefit. I review your backlink profile and show which links are fine, which deserve attention and where it makes sense to step in. Not according to one score from a tool, but according to the data and a manual assessment.
I shine a light on your backlinks
The audit does not end with a list of domains and their metrics. For every important link you get an explanation of why the link is of good quality, or why it makes sense to deal with its removal.
An overview of the backlink profile
You will see where the links come from, where they point and what your backlink profile looks like as a whole.
A manual assessment of the links
I check the suspicious links one by one and distinguish those you can leave alone from those that deserve attention.
An evaluation of the risk in the links
For the problematic links I explain where I see the risk and why. Without blindly relying on an automated score.
A recommended course of action
You will know what to keep, what to monitor and where it makes sense to step in.
Disavow only with a reason
I do not recommend disavowing links automatically. If there is a genuine reason for it, I prepare a disavow file for your review and the final decision stays with you.

The results of the audit are based on the available data and on expert assessment. The recommendations serve as guidance for further work with the backlink profile.
One score does not decide the risk in a link. Its origin, relevance and context do.
Data from several sources
I connect data from Google Search Console with professional backlink databases to get the most complete picture possible.
Referring websites and pages
I review the quality, the relevance and the character of the websites the links come from.
Anchor texts
I follow the ratio of branded, URL, generic and commercial anchor texts and look for unnatural patterns.
Target pages
I check where the links point and whether they concentrate unusually on particular pages.
How the backlink profile developed
I compare new, lost and changed links and look for connections with earlier link building.
A reason before an intervention
I recommend removal or a disavow only at the moment there is a specific and defensible reason for it.
How does a backlink audit work?
I find out what is happening with the backlink profile
First I get clear about what is happening with the backlink profile and where the problem may be.
I put together the whole picture of the backlink profile
I connect the available data and the surrounding context, so that no conclusion stands on a single metric.
I separate what matters from what does not
I look at the origin, the relevance, the anchor text, the target page, the repetition and the context. Every material finding has a reason.
I tell you what to do next and what to leave alone
I translate the result into a specific course of action, so that you know what is worth doing and what to leave as it is.
I do not judge backlinks by a colour in a tool.
As a Head of SEO I dealt with websites that had extensive and problematic backlink profiles. Tools help to sort the links, but on their own they cannot tell what the real problem is. That is why I take into account the history of the website, the way the links were acquired and their context. The result is my recommendation of what to address and what to leave alone.
When does a backlink audit pay off?
A backlink audit makes sense when you need to find out whether the links require an intervention and what kind. If your main goal is to gain new relevant links, choose link building. If you do not know the cause of a drop in traffic, start with a broader SEO audit.
Disavow is not routine. I use it only when there is a specific reason for it.
When I can recommend doing an audit
- Google Search Console reports a manual action because of backlinks.
- The website has low-quality or unmanaged link building behind it.
- The backlink profile has changed markedly and you do not know why.
- You are taking over a project and want to know the state of its backlinks.
- You have an old disavow file and do not know whether it is still current.
- You are planning further link building and want to be clear about the current profile first.
A different service makes more sense when
- You want to gain new relevant links. Link building fits better.
- You do not know why organic traffic is falling. Start with an SEO audit.
- You are dealing with crawling, indexing or rendering of the website. Choose technical SEO.
- The backlink profile is natural and shows no warning signs. You probably do not need an audit.
Send me the domain and the reason for the backlink review.
Send me the domain and write briefly what you are dealing with. I will ask you for everything else I need for the audit.
